Here are the 4 steps that you need to follow for cat urine removal.

1. Finding the stained area can sometimes be difficult because the urine comes out in a stream and seeps deep down into the carpet backing or furniture padding. Using a black UV light might be helpful since the actual urine spot may be no larger than dime.

2. Soak up as much of the cat urine as you can by pressing down really hard on the area with plenty of paper towels. If it has already dried, then moisten it first and then soak it up with the paper towels. Mix two parts of warm water with one part of distilled white vinegar. Apply this mixture to the stained area, rub it well in and allow to dry completely.

3. Dampen the area with clean water and sprinkle plenty of baking soda and work it into the carpet with a brush. Allow this to dry completely for several hours, or perhaps even overnight and then vacuum the area.

4. If the cat urine odour is still there then repeat the last step.

The eyes of your feline buddies have often been used on horror films. But if you’re a pet proprietor, you will know that the cat’s stare is basically the alternative of what’s being portrayed on films. That is why you need to know the importance of cat eye care.

I Love You

How do cats say these words? Through their eyes, of course. That is why you shouldn’t be frightened by that gaze. How does this work? First, the cat stares at you for an extended while. And after that, it blinks its eyes slowly. Some people tag this as a cat’s kiss. However you may as well say that that is your cat’s way of claiming that it loves you.

But how do you come back the favor? Straightforward, just comply with your cat’s lead. Stare at it for a very long time and then slowly blink your eyes. See? Cats’ eyes can be used as parts for romantic films.

Not a Third Eye

Don’t imagine the horror movies you see. Cats do not have a third eye. Their eyesight is de facto sharper than with humans. As a substitute of a 3rd eye, what cats have is a third eyelid. This is known as a nictitating membrane.

This internal eyelid protects the eyes of the cats from hurt and also from dryness. You’ll discover that when a cat is sick, this membrane will considerably close. This should alarm you to call the vet or get your cat to them fast.

However this third eyelid may also show as soon as a cat is happy. So you’ll know what temper your cat is in just by wanting on the membrane.

The Pupil

Your feline buddy’s pupil of the eyes should also be observed. A change in size of 1 pupil may be a sign of an inflammation. It will also be a sign of a kind of a disorder in neurologic known as Horner’s Syndrome. Or worse, it may possibly additionally point out tumors or injuries within the central nervous system.

The Nocturnal Vision

Don’t believe what others say that cats are color blind. They see some. They could not see as clear as people do, but it surely’s not like that they cannot see any colors at all.

Cats can also see clearly from afar. It is very totally different from people. They find it blurry to be looking at issues which are so near them.

Sure, cats have the nocturnal vision. But they can not see in full darkness. Do you see the muscle tissues on their iris that encompass the pupils of their eyes? They’re constructed in a approach that it narrows into a vertical split when they’re exposed within the vibrant lights. And it opens fully when the acts are in a fairly dim light.

This function of the cats may be traced back to their roots. They will use such to hunt for meals through the evening if they were not noted in the jungle or left with nobody to care for them.

So overlook about the horror flicks. You’ve already obtained the thrills. Not it’s time to put some effort into cat eye care. Don’t let a minor factor worsen. Name the vet instantly when something’s amiss. You do not need your cat to lose their sight and even lose their lives. It’s all the time higher to be protected than blind.

Look after your cats health with the Breeze Tidy Cats litter system. The tidy cats breeze litter system is a revolutionary system that eliminates odors and makes cleaning a breeze.

Our cats require a varied diet, including a mixture of natural canned cat food and dry food. Contrary to opinions that it doesn’t matter, purchasing only one type of food because of ease or cost is a mistake, and can harm your cat’s health. When the cat is alone or by himself for a time, carbohydrate rich dry food should be left out for your cat with a supply of good water. Canned food is higher in protein due to the meat content, and contains more water levels. Both are needed for a proper diet, and a combination of both dry and canned food will keep variety in the diet and keep the cat from looking for food elsewhere.

Dry food helps to ensure your cat’s dental health. As the cat chews the food, her teeth are also cleaned which lessens the buildup of tartar and exercises your cat’s teeth and gums. Price is a big factor. Most wellness dry cat food is considerably less costly than canned foods often less than half as costly. And your cat will eat proportionally less food which will make your feeding dollars stretch even more.

Dry food is much easier to store. If the storage container is air-tight and covered, the food will last until the expiration date listed on the package, usually months or years into the future. An opened can of cat food must be placed in the fridge and used within one day to avoid spoilage. Feeding dry cat food to your cats is easier. You can put the day’s supply of food in a bowl, and you don’t have to fret about food spoiling. You may even use automatic feeders in case you are not always consistently there to feed your cat at mealtimes. Canned cat food can only be put in bowls for a short period of time.

You can check out the ingredient list, which will tell you the major items put in the food. This will also tell you if the ingredients are derived from plants or animals. The first item that is listed is the main ingredient from which this cat food is made. If an animal product is listed first it is safe to assume this is the major ingredient in this product. However, it is not listed as to what type of animal product they used.

This may mean it is a by-product that could have been refused by human food producers. It may not be something that should be used for providing the best cat food for your cat. That is why most cat owners are constantly searching for food that contains the correct vitamins and necessary nutrients to keep their cat healthy and more apt to live a longer, healthier life.

When deciding on what type of food to feed your cat you can take into consideration what the necessary nutrients are. Your cat will need a balanced diet that has meats, poultry or fish, grains from cereal, and vegetable protein. If you can’t find a food that contains all of these products, your cat is not getting the necessary vitamins and nutrients that he needs to be a healthy and happy feline. Don’t forget your dog if you have one. You can find some dog biscuit for your pet at many online locations.

Pet nail care is a vital part of your pet’s total health care. Considering that claws continually grow and are not necessarily worn down as they could if they were going for walks, consequently it is up to you to help keep them at a more comfortable length. If nails are too long, it influences the manner a dog walks which might lead to joint disease later in life. Additionally longer nails could get caught and torn, or sometimes curl back into the toe pad and may also trigger an infection. Trimming nails is not that upsetting if you have the appropriate tools and also have properly trained your pet to let you hold the paw.

The nail does have a “quick” that houses the veins and nerves of the nail. The quick is easier to see in white nails. By trimming small amounts at any given time and trimming with the plane of the bottom part of the toe pad (horizontally rather than vertically) it is possible to avoid clipping the nail to short as to cause it to bleed.

Here are some other tricks to effectively cut your pet’s nails:

1. Begin when your pet is still a puppy or kitten by carefully touching their paws. Start by making a game of it and looking at the nails, chances are they will allow you to cut them once they grow older.

2. Decide on pet nail trimmer for the size and age of your pet.I quite often use the human toenail trimmer for young pet’s nails because it can get to the teeny points a tad easier and they are sharper. As the kitten or puppy gets older, I may then transition nail trimmers to the scissor action style of trimmer instead of the guillotine trimmer. I find that these stay sharper longer and are a lot easier to use. The guillotine type some times traps the nails and does not make a clean cut. Your veterinarian will help you select a suitable trimmer.

3. When trimming your dog’s nails, by no means do it when your pet is sitting in your lap. Enlist someone to assist you and set them on the counter or top of the washer or dryer. You can wrap them with a soft towel to assist holding them much better. Cats can also be scruffed by grasping the loose skin behind their heads for better control. If your pet starts to resist, just try holding the paw until he relaxes. Should you release the paw when your pet starts to protest, you are just re-enforcing the poor behavior and will make the following nail trim event a whole lot worse. (Go back to number 1)

4. Be prepared. Have available styptic pencils such as silver nitrate or Kwik stop powder. Be aware that the silver nitrate on the end of the sticks can stain countertops and your skin should you get it on you. For beginners, it is best to stick with the styptic powder.

5. If your pet has light colored nails, you are able to visualize the pink part of the quick. If your pet has darker nails, trim only a little at a time. I like to gently press on the toe and extend the nail out. I then draw an imaginary line level with the bottom of the toe pad and extend it out across the nail. I then trim the nail at this imaginary line so that the nail is now level with the floor when the dog is standing. The nail of the cat is easier to see and it is best to just trim the tips off and stay away from the pink colored quick.

6. You may use an emery board to smooth the rough edges.

7. Pedi-paws or similar rotor drill sanders are helpful to smooth sharp tips and also to trim just a tiny bit of nail. If the nail is very long whatsoever, then it will take you a long time to get it trimmed. You should use the drill to maintain the nail shorter or for smoothing the nail after you have used the clippers. Your pet must also be trained not to be frightened by the the motor, so i suggest you move slowly as you both figure out how to control the drill.

After some practice and a lot of patience, you may soon be trimming your pet’s nails with full confidence. If all else fails, your veterinarian or groomer are there to help.

For all of time cats have taken care of their reproduction pretty much on their own. Originally, the pet cat was used for the hunting and extermination of rodents. In the beginning with cats we would of fed them to keep them from straying. As time marched on we began to breed cats and we looked more closely at their qualities, although, we were more atuned to their appeaance. Today there are many different breeds of cats. Check out this pet’s site for even more information.

The official word from cat registries basically recognizes about 40 or so breeds. The widely accepted number actually does to fall higher, more than likely about 70, as we tend to think of some coloring or patterns as being a breed, when in reality, they are not.

Cats have an ages old history throughout our civilization. Siamese cats are one type of cat that became fairly well known through television. The Himalayan looks like a Siamese, although it has much longer fur, basically, a longer haired version of the Siamese. Siamese have a somewhat misunderstood disposition and are often thought of as violent or angry personalities. That is not my experience.

Many of the more exotic breeds can be expensive as people who breed them keep control of their sale and the numbers of them available. Cats all seem to make good human companions and their original use as rodent eliminators still holds true in modern times. The basic American cat, probably thought of as the alley cat, is great in numbers mostly because there are so many strays. They reproduce naturally and increase in numbers naturally. Cats are very good at perpetuating their species and will continually breed throughout their life.

Along with the domesticated dog, cats are one of the most popular pets. Easily domesticated and trained to use a litter box, cats are preferred by many as the best pet to have. Whatever your preference, cats are here to stay as a mainstay in the American way of life.

Cat urine is without a doubt the most distinctive and fowl odor on the face of this earth that has the potential to stick to your furniture and carpeting, permanently. Check out my tips and easy to do-it-yourself recipes on cat urine removal from carpets & furniture.

Before you can start with the cleaning process, you’ll be required to do a smell test to determine exactly where to problem is located. Should you prefer to avoid the smell-test a black light can be used to spot the terrible-smelling area.

There are loads of products on the market which promise to remove cat urine odors but they are not all 100 percent effective. Cat owners who rather want to use a commercial cat urine removal product should ask their vet for recommendations.

To remove cat urine odor from your carpets, blot area with paper towels and apply urine removal product. A bacterial-enzyme combination cleaner always comes highly recommended, as this product will remove both the urine stain and odor. Then use a carpet cleaner to cleanse, rinse with luke-warm water and leave to dry. In case of a dried-on stain, dilute it with warm water and then only initiate the stain removal process. This will make your job significantly easier.

Cat stained upholstery can also be cleansed, chop-chop. As with carpeting-blot stain with paper towels but use only cold water. Make sure any excess moisture is absorbed by the towels and clean the area with solution comprising of three cups warm water and two tablespoon vinegar. A bacterial-enzyme combination cleaner can also be used on the spot.

As the old saying goes- prevention is always better than cure. If your cat is a frequent spotter, have the cat checked by your vet to rule out any medical reason for excess spotting. If medical causes are ruled out, several steps can be taken to minimize and actually prevent incidents. Place a litter box in each frequent spotting zone. Place food, water or plastic in the spotted areas as cats usually try to avoid spotting on mentioned items.

Steer clear from any product containing ammonia whether for cat urine odors removal or general household cleaning purposes. Urine contains a very large amount of ammonia and the smell will encourage more spotting instead of discourage it. Litter in boxes should always be kept neat and fresh. A cat is a naturally clean animal and will refuse to use a dirty box.

No matter how adorable cats may seem to us, I dare say no one will ever call car urine smell a pleasant or even a bearable thing. Therefore, cat urine removal becomes a task of first priority for cat owners. Cat urine odor is a very difficult thing to remove, so I do not promise any easy and magical remedies, but in this article you will certainly find some useful tips on removing it.

The sooner you start removing cat urine stain after it was made, the better.

First of all, you need to locate and localize the stain, not permitting it to spread around and spoil more of your carpet or any other article.

Do not try to rub it off, but rather dab it with a soft fabric or napkins. Try start gathering it from outside of the stain in.

To remove all urine you can, you need to press the napkin or tissue hard to the stain. The easiest way of doing it is covering the stain with a fabric, then with a plastic bag (if you don’t want getting any on your shoes) and standing on it for some 30 seconds.

After removing urine, you need to wash the stain. You may use dish detergent or vinegar solution for it. If the stain is fresh it may seem like you have washed it off easily leaving no bad smell. But, keep in mind that cats are quite constant in their habits, if you pussy hs selected the spot, most likely it will reiterate its attempts, especially if even the slightest smell of urine is left there. So, repeat the washing for several times.

You may use baking soda for removing cat urine smells. If you deal with carpet stains, you may sprinkle soda all over the stain and leave it there for a while. Then you need to rub it in carefully with a brush and remove it using a broom or a vacuum cleaner.

Another effective cat urine stain remover is any washing detergent with enzyme in it. Most detergents simply cover up or mask urine smell; while enzyme ones remove and destroy bad smell molecules, permanently removing the odor. For intensifying enzyme detergent effect you may cover the stain, so it would remain moist for a while. You may use a plastic bag or foil for the purpose.

Those were several cat urine removal tips and I hope they will prove useful to you.

Possibly the one thing that puts off a lot of cat owners is their pets’ annoying and frustrating inclination to spray urine all over the home. This is intolerable to say the very least, judging from the constant odour of pee in your house. Nonetheless, it is crucial for cat owners to understand the reason why their cat sprays urine, this will help them refrain from considering extreme measures for instance taking them to a shelter and leaving them there. It is very important to understand that there generally is a reason for the vast majority of behavioral difficulties that your pet cat displays. Consequently, as soon as you realize why your cat behaves the way it does by spraying urine, you are going to be better placed in finding a solution to this problem.

The reason why cats spray urine is essentially primal and much in keeping with what nature intended. This is a normal way for most animals to mark their territories, or maybe attract members of the opposite sex. For instance, when a female cat is in heat, they tend to spray urine in order to inform the male cats that they are available for mating. On the other hand, neutered cats tend to spray urine because of competition or territorial disputes amongst many cats living in the same home, or in the event that you move to a new home with your cat. Moreover, cats also tend to spray urine when a new cat or a new baby arrives, or in situations where the cat does not feel safe and secure. In such cases of insecurity, the cat will spray urine just so as to ensure that their territory is well reinforced.

There are some things you can do to stop your cat from spraying urine:

• One way that you could stop your cat from spraying urine is by having it neutered. This is mainly because urine spraying is generally induced by hormonal activity. Nevertheless, you may have to wait around two months to see the behavior end altogether as it will not end straight away.

• Just remember to completely cleanse urine spots using special cleaners and products that will help to reduce the effects of the smell of urine. These can be purchased from the nearby pet store, or else you may use your special home produced solution of vinegar and water. However, do not use any products that contain ammonia because they could stimulate the cat to spray even more – bear in mind urine includes ammonia. Instead, you could spray feline facial pheromones in these places, which usually help in soothing down your cat.

• If someone new has moved into your home, have them feed or play with your cat and establish a bond such that the cat does not feel threatened and spray urine.

• For multi-cat homes, make sure that every cat has its own litter box, as well as an extra one for the house. Be sure the litter boxes are kept clean, and be sure you separate the cats which might be in conflict or those which spray urine.

• Start up games and engage your cat in play at the specific areas where it sprays urine. If they only spray in one room, prevent it from further accessing that particular room. However, if they spray in multiple places and you cannot prevent access, move their feeding bowls and litter boxes to that area – remember that most cats will not urinate where they eat.

• Do not ever punish your cat for spraying urine as they will feel even more insecure and therefore spray even more. If this behavior persists even after applying the above tips, you should consult your vet for advice on what else you can do. In a situation where all these behavior modification techniques do not work, a vet may prescribe anti-anxiety medications for your pet cat.

Most cats prefer a loose, sandy substance, which is why they will use a litter box. It’s only when their preferences include the the bed or the rug, that normal elimination behavior becomes a problem. With careful analysis of your cat’s environment, specific factors that have contributed to the litter box problem can usually be identified and changed, so that your cat will again use the litter box.

Some common reasons why cats don’t use the litter box are: an aversion to the box, a preference for a particular surface not provided by the box, a preference for a particular location where there is no box, or a combination of all three. You’ll need to do some detective work to determine the reason your cat is house soiling.

Cats don’t stop using their litter boxes because they’re mad or upset and are trying to get revenge for something. Because humans act for these reasons, it’s easy for us to assume that our pets do as well. Animals don’t act out of spite or revenge, so it won’t help to give your cat special privileges in the hope that she’ll start using the litter box again.

Medical Problems
It’s common for cats to begin eliminating outside of their litter box when they have a medical problem. For example, a urinary tract infection or crystals in the urine can make urination very painful. Cats often associate this pain with the litter box and begin to avoid it. If your cat has a house-soiling problem, check with your veterinarian first to rule out any medical problems for the behavior. Cats don’t always act sick, even when they are, and only a trip to the veterinarian for a thorough physical examination can rule out a medical problem.

Cleaning Soiled Areas
Because animals are highly motivated to continue soiling an area that smells like urine or feces, it’s imperative that you thoroughly clean the soiled areas.

Aversion To The Litter Box
Your cat may have decided that the litter box is an unpleasant place to eliminate if:
• The box is not clean enough for her.
• She has experienced painful urination or defecation in the box due to a medical problem.
• She has been startled by a noise while using the box.
• She has been “ambushed” while in the box either by another cat, a child, a dog, or by you, if you were attempting to catch her for some reason.
• She associates the box with punishment (someone punished her for eliminating outside the box, then placed her in the box).

What You Can Do
• Keep the litter box extremely clean. Scoop at least once a day and change the litter completely every four to five days. If you use scoopable litter, you may not need to change the litter as frequently. This will vary according to how many cats are in the household, how many litter boxes you have, and how large the cats are that are using the box or boxes. A good guideline is that if you can smell the box, then you can be sure it’s offensive to your cat as well.
• Add a new box in a different location than the old one and use a different type of litter in the new box. Because your cat has decided that her old litter box is unpleasant, you’ll want to make the new one different enough that she doesn’t simply apply the old, negative associations to the new box.
• Make sure that the litter box isn’t near an appliance that makes noise or in an area of the house that your cat doesn’t frequent.
• If ambushing is a problem, try to create more than one exit from the litter box, so that if the “ambusher” is waiting by one area, your cat always has an escape route.

Surface Preferences
All animals develop preferences for a particular surface on which they like to eliminate. These preferences may be established early in life, but they may also change overnight for reasons that we don’t always understand. Your cat may have a surface preference if:

• She consistently eliminates on a particular texture. For example, soft-textured surfaces, such as carpet, bedding or clothing, or slick-textured surfaces, such as tile, cement, bathtubs or sinks.
• She frequently scratches on this same texture after elimination, even if she eliminates in the litter box.
• She is or was previously an outdoor cat and prefers to eliminate on grass or soil.

What You Can Do
• If your cat is eliminating on soft surfaces, try using a high quality, scoopable litter, and put a soft rug under the litter box.
• If your cat is eliminating on slick, smooth surfaces, try putting just a very thin layer of litter at one end of the box, leaving the other end bare, and put the box on a hard floor.
• If your cat has a history of being outdoors, add some soil or sod to the litter box.
• Make the area where she has been eliminating aversive to her by covering it with an upside down carpet runner or aluminum foil, or by placing citrus-scented cotton balls over the area.

Location Preferences
Your cat may have a location preference if:
• She always eliminates in quiet, protected places, such as under a desk downstairs or in a closet.
• She eliminates in an area where the litter box was previously kept or where there are urine odors.
• She eliminates on a different level of the house from where the litter box is located.

What You Can Do
• Put at least one litter box on every level of your house.
• Make the area where she has been eliminating aversive to her by covering it with upside down carpet runner or aluminum foil, or by placing citrus-scented cotton balls over the area OR
• Put a litter box in the location where your cat has been eliminating. When she has consistently used this box for at least one month, you may gradually move it to a more convenient location at a rate of an inch per day.

Oops!

Don’t ever punish your cat for eliminating outside of the litter box. If you find a soiled area, it’s too late to administer a correction. Do nothing but clean it up. Rubbing your cat’s nose in it, taking her to the spot and scolding her, or any other type of punishment, will only make her afraid of you or afraid to eliminate in your presence. Animals don’t understand punishment after the fact, even if it’s only seconds later. Punishment will do more harm than good.
